About Me

Ok, so lets start this again.
Hi, I am Rishabh Kaul. I am 22 23 and welcome to my eponymous blog. This blog is my commentary on what catches my eye, tickles my grey cells and keeps me up at night.
Most of the posts border around three themes: Impact, Happiness and Curiosity. I suppose it’s a convenient enough categorization if anything else.
In many ways, this platform has also witnessed my journey and transformation from the time I was in the 10th grade (yes, early adopter we are).
After spending most of my life in Hyderabad, I had the good fortune for spending four amazing years at Pilani. In May 2011, I graduated with degrees in Economics and Civil Engineering. Willing to spend another year in an academic program, I applied to and got selected as a Young India Fellow, which is a liberal arts program started by the International Foundation for Research and Education with University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences as the academic partner from which I will graduate in May 2012.

My college life gave me tremendous freedom and helped me widen my horizon. However since my freshman days I was told to narrow down my interests and stick to one path. While this strategy had obvious benefits, I’d never felt comfortable with this status quo leading to long sleepless nights & at times issues of self doubt. It was finally after attending a talk by Kellogg’s Prof. Robert Walcott at the World Business Dialogue that my anxiety faded. He mentioned that having multiple interests is in fact really good and that it has been proven that “while finance and marketing might seem to be a good mix, so is finance and Italian cuisine or soccer”. That talk really had a huge impact on me. There has been no looking back since then; my passion in trivia quizzing right from my school days has lead me to start my own education company where we use quizzes a mode of making learning fun & creative. My interest in development and business made me work with Grassroutes, write for one of world’s most visited social entrepreneurship blogs and intern in some of the most amazing social enterprises working on a variety of issues such as water, healthcare, public policy, micro-insurance and high growth entrepreneurship.
I’m forever interested in exploring ideas, meeting people and drifting into unknown spaces. If you want to get in touch with me, rishabhkaul at gmail dot com is the mail, just shoot one across.
While I wouldn’t call myself a backpacker, I love traveling. Below are places I have visited. But there’s so much more to see.
